Megacab question
I am a newbie here (see first post here for a bit of a bcakground) but I have a question that none of the engineers I work with seem to deal with.
For those of you who have a 2008 megacab, I have a question. Does yours still have the rear vents? I cannot get a square answer but I have a 08 fully loaded laramie megacab and it does not. My 06 laramie did have it and since alot of the guys who work on those type of applications are in saltillo mexico or somewhere deep in Auburn Hills I have no way of getting the answer as too why. We have always had issues with bad blowers but if this is a solution to that problem..well that is bad news.
I cannot find any info on the net or at work. I have noticed other differances in my last megacab. But thats another story. Thanks for the help guys.

I'm assuming you're talking about rear seat ventillation? If not...my bad. The only rear vents on my 2008 mega are 2 below the middle of the front seat and they do not blow well at all, I have to freeze out the driver and passenger to ensure my rear occupants are well cooled.
Here's an option:

I have a 1500 ram Megacab with the SLT package along with the SXT off road package and it does have the rear vents.
BTW, if you want them to blow to the back, you have to adjust your vent settings to blow to the floor. If you have them set to defrost or to the dash vents, there will be no flow to the back seats. It's obviously designed more for heat distribution then for cooling.

i actually saw a guy that cut his own holes in the headliner, got roof vents from a ford expedition (i think) and used oval air duct bought from home depot, and ran the duct to his floor vents. he no longe had floor vents, but he had overhead vents in the rear of his mega. actually didnt look like that much work. its a guy i see every now and again at the local car show

ya, i didnt get into really specific details of how he did it, but thats what he said. took a kitchen knife and cut a circle in the rear and got the vent covers and ran ducts to it. no longer has floor vents in the front, but oh well. he mainly did it for his kids. bought the roomy truck for his kids and they would pretty much bake in the back with the hot florida sun. and the dark blue made it that much hotter. and he said it only took him a few hours so it couldnt have been that bad to install. it lookedd very very clean, as if it came from the dealer.
