Default How do I remove my rear bumper?

Please bear with me since I really don't have much automotive knowledge.
I am trying to relace my damaged rear bumper, I unbolted it from the frame(6 bolts) and I have another bumper with brackets attached, but I can't figure out how to get the old one off. The one that I bought looks like it came off as one unit. It looks like you would just slide it straight back off the frame rails, but it won't clear the back of bed. Do I have to jack something up to get clearence to slide it out.. OR am I just missing something obvious??????
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this....
Truck is an 03 QC SLT 4x4 longbed.
