I kinda think the only way it should be done here is if you take the 3rd gens, without the diesels (not that I'm prejudice, even though they technically are 3rd gens, they got their own section), and automatically nominate the winner to represent the 3rd gen section in the following months TOTM for the whole forum.
That would kinda go along with my ideal situation of having three different types of trucks in the TOTM running every month. I for one don't really like seeing three lifted, red, Hemi 4x4's up in TOTM at the same time. That's why I declined the TOTM this month, 'Nitto was nominated before me, so I figured why accept and possibly split the 3rd gen vote...

 

we could do that. strictly 3rd gen gassers. i mean IMO a diesel gets built up a lot more than a hemi. put out unbelieable numbers and a lot of those guys have trucks most of us cant compete with.

 

Yea, that's kinda what i wanted to do. Make the 3rd gen winner the nominee in the main TOTM. July's 3rdGen winner (Nitto) has been nominated for TOTM. This was originally his idea btw, I just jumped on it. And both of you make a good point, diesels have their own sections and much more room for mods.

So, 3rd gen gassers only?

 

Yea, last time I accepted a nom for TOTM, I got beat by an almost stock Diesel, by like three votes. Got a little ugly too, I had a pretty good lead and ALL the diesel guys started rallying. Hell, before they started with their crap, Frenchy was running second, he ended up a way distant last. Now I don't mind losing, mind you, but my old buddy HuntinHanson (a mod then) started updating me on a lot of guys who never had been on before, registered, voted and I'm sure have never been on again. I had two votes I know of by people who never were on before. One, a co-worker, who owned a Jeep GC, and a hunting buddy with an '05 Hemi that I had just put a set of leveling keys on for. The co-worker got a little out of control with a bunch from the diesel crowd, who ALL got out of control back at him, to the point I forbid him from ever logging on again, and I almost pulled out. Big mess and the biggest reason I've turned down the nomination since.
But most of the "better than thou" in the diesel crowd are gone and heck, I made a post a day or two ago in the TOTM section looking for someone to nominate a diesel for the mix...

what happened to all the diesel guys? ive said it before, the CTD forum is dead. i miss having all the guys over there. honestly it seems like most diesel forums are somewhat dead. i joined diesel bombers and its the same way. maybe thats how forums are, and im just used to our 3rd gen section, which is actually pretty busy.

 

Ok question. Obviously, the 3rd gen puts up the previous month winner for TOTM. That means they shouldn't be able to run here for a period of time. So what if another 3rd gen gets put up for TOTM, are they still eligible to run here.
You guys gonna do this, there should be some loose rules anyway.
BTW: I think it would be cool if the guy's who come in 2nd & 3rd here should have to nominate & 2nd the 3rd gen nominee for TOTM...
