Default Ready lift leveling kit

I have an 08 ram hemi and have 20 inch wheels all factory and I was looking at the ready lift 2.5 inch leveling kit. I have one concern and it was that I want to stay factory everything I don’t want to change tires or anything just want to level it out. Just not sure how it will look. Does anyone have any ideas?

I just installed a 2.5" Hell Bent Steel leveling kit on my '08. So far i have not had any trouble. It's going in tomorrow for a wheel alignment.

I was fairly concerned about the 2.5" lift though, after reading a lot about the extreme angle the CV joint short shaft is put in after the installation.

my buddy has an '07 with a 2.5" level kit installed - he's never had any issues.

here's my '08 - oem 20" rims and tires...

2.5" level kit won't increase the CV angles bad at all, you should never have any issues because of it...
It's mainly a big concern for people with taller suspension kits with really big tires that raise the angle even more...

Default New to Dodge Forum

I just got a 08 Hemi QC 4x4 on the last day of leasing. Took the mud flaps off the 05 before I gave it back put them on the new one and started immediately looking for a rake reversal. I put body lifts on a few Ram's in the past but this new one has the 20's and the garage door is too low. I had a 04 and 05 that I pushed up the Torsion bars. It worked for about five minutes and the bars started to sag back down to the old position. (Especially the driver side...does that mean I eat too much?)

Just wondering how far the toe-in and camber are off. Also how much, if any, abnormal wear has been noticed after an alignment. I am sure replacing a pair of 20s is not cheap.

Thanks

good to know... thanks.

I am thinking about going from the OEM 275/60R20's to 35x12.5x20 - any issues with the level kit and that set up?

thanks again

Not if you have a wheel with enough backspacing. I understand it's more of an issue with the '06+ coil overs than the '02-'05 torsion bar fronts.
A wheel choice with about 4.5" of backspacing I believe is the ticket to fit 35x12.5's on your truck.
Now 35's with just a level kit don't leave a lot of room for flex off-road without hitting and a loaded down bed may give issues on speed bumps and sutch. But they will fit. If you are looking to take the truck off-road and want to just go with the level kit, maybe opt for a slightly smaller tire. You don't have to go with 33's, most good A/T and M/T tires offer metric sizes that come in around the 34-34.5" sizes. A half inch doesn't sound like much, but it'll make a pretty big difference off the pavement...
Take a look at my photo album and imagine 2" lower from the top of the tire well to the top of the tire and it'll give you an idea how much room you'll have with 35's.

Default which is the best leveling kit

So for an 08 which leveling kit would be some top choices, either a 2 or 2.5 leveling kit.

OK cool... Yeah, i see what you mean. My OEM 20" rims have too much backspacing too... i just looked and the 275/60R20 tires just barely clear the upper part of the suspension/steering.

guess I'll be buying new rims first...

thanks again for the info...

Default Newbie (code for dumb) question

How can one determine if a lift-kit was pre-installed? While I was reviewing the pictures of other Rams, I noticed mine seems to be "higher" than the stock Rams.

the 2in wont give you what your wanting...itll still look low. the 2.5 really sets it off. i measured before i put mine on and its really like in between..like 2.25 would be close to perfect. but it looks better being a fourth higher than a fourth lower trust me. id def go with the readylift..idk if you got my pm or not. theres no sag or nething. its def worth getting in my opinion

ps..how bout this new forum eh? i love it
