Yes it is a 1500 and i agree that a 2500 or 3500 would have been the way to go but that is what we have. Also some air bags or helper springs would have been helpful and i told my mom if she is going to be pulling the trailer alot to look into them. We were worried about pulling this much weight that long of a distance so we just took it nice and slow and would stop every couple hours to top off on gas and check everything. It took us just under 25 hours to make the trip.

I was going to post yesterday that you should have gotten a set of air bags. I have a set just because with the toolbox up against the cab, my 650 lb. ATV sits so far back (the rear wheels just barely are on the lowered tailgate) that my truck sat way low in the back. But I figured why bother post, she already moved and how often do you move? But if she's gonna pull that trailer around with any regularity, the roughly $200 you'll spend on a set of bags will be well worth it...

Looking at the picture of the rear of the truck I would say the only suspension you had was the stop blocks flexing. WOW!

very impressive for a 1500. I know my Dakota would've said uncle.

that truck looks very unhappy with that much weight on the back.

After that haul, I would see about getting the rear end serviced.

Rear and tranny serviced. I am sure the tranny was at higher than normal temperature.

I told my mom to take it in and have all the fluids changed and tell them what we did with it and have them check everything.

Ouch, man. That's probably way too much overload. For the sake of the horses and your fellow motorists, please use a heavier truck for future marathon towing adventures.

Holy crap... that is sick. Good thing you never had to make a quick stop, with the stock brakes you would have ended a half mile too far. I would be careful towing that... in CT truck squad would have pulled you over and asked you for your Class A. But nothing like knowing what your truck can do for you.
