My quest for WAF
WAF = Wife Acceptance Factor
Anyway, to get my '03 2500 riding/driving a little better I'm installing a Rancho Steering Stabalizer on the truck tomorrow. This should help with the "bounce" from the large 315 x 70 x 17" KO tires.
Next, I think I'll try a Super chips on the car to help with the shift zones.
Next, I'll put a little quieter muffler on the truck.
Next, I'll drop tire size, If I must.
Need a liitle WAF here.

My advice: Either start drinking.....HEAVILY or
Get the stabilizer, get the Superchips, get a Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler, get at least a 5" suspension lift to go to at least 35" tires, get the 4.56 gears you've been wanting too.
Loose the wife...

Redneck Dodge, those are the exact wheels I have on my Ram! I think they look great! Do you have the 315x70x17's?
I pulled the Flowmaster off and toned it down.
Truth is, my wife has her own ride (2008 Chrysler Crossfire) and we share an '06 Expedition so the point is she doesn't like the "redneck" dodge in the driveway.
I like it because it's a 2500 and can pull maost anything we'll ever get (boat/horse trailer) and it's only purpose in life right now is a Beach Buggy for the Outter Banks in NC for fishing!

what's redneck about it? well, other than it being a truck. according to my friends, me having a truck automatically makes me the most redneck brown person they know.
you're back to the stock muffler, and the taller tires will only soften your ride, unless they are aggressive tread. the SC will only make the ride 'rougher', you'll feel it jerk a litle when it shifts. I think you're about as good as you're going to get. Maybe a matched tonneau will make her feel like it's a little less redneck?

No, she's from Brooklyn and give Anesthesia for a living at Duke University....so me being from Virginia, with a pickup as a toy...well, you know....
I didn't go stock on the muffler, just took the Flowmaster off and got one a notch below...I think it's a Turbo, or something like that.

With today's muffler technology
you don't have to give up any torque
to have a sound as quiet as stock, just lower tone.
The largest Walker QuietFlo muffler adapted down to your pipe size can do this,
as can a combo of:
Stainless Steel 36 inch long DynoMax UltraFlo "RV" style 6 inch diameter as the main muffler and a 16 inch long DynoMax UltraFlo as an exhaust tip
"Corky" at Durham Radiator is less than 2 miles from the Duke Med Center
and can install an exhaust like this
Notice that Corky has the photos on the wall and the trophies to prove he has been drag racing for 25 years.
While you are in the neighborhood stop by and see similar at Jacobs Transmission, but they are not Mopar guys. Nearby AllTech Auto has good diagnostic tools.

Thanks Hank! I may do that as it seems they know what their doing. Our local yahoo's are nice folks and well intentioned, but not in the "know" on many things. Of course, I'm totally not in the "know" which complicates matters
