05 ram steering wheel leather junk
Yup, my 04 started to do the same thing, basically the whole top from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock position probably started about two years after I had it. I thought it was the hot Fl. sun baking it and bought a steering wheel cover and started using the fold up shades in the windshield religiously.
I never gave it a thought again because of the cover being on it, but about a year ago, my neighbor with an '06 had the same thing happen, called the dealer and they replaced his entire steering wheel, no questions asked.
As I was out of my 3/36 by then and wasn't smart enough to call the dealer when I first noticed it, I guess I'll just leave my cover around mine for good.
If you are still under the 3/36 bumper to bumper, call your dealer, they will replace it...

My 2004 is doing the same thing, I Just load the leather up with liquid leather conditioner and It is barely noticable. Try this before you go and put a big ugly aftermarket on.

My 02 did it and was replaced under warranty and did it again after 3/36. Just covered it with aftermarket. I made sure my 07 didn't come with leather and just put nice aftermarket on the hard plastic. Its a lot easier to take care of.
