Default I now officially hate Long Island

This happened to me driving to work on Wednesday. The driver of the Ford moving van that hit me ignored that basic rule of physics that 2 solid objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time.

Ouch, ouch, ouch. That really sucks. I hope the fix goes as easy and painless as it can be.

I gotta say, USAA has been good so far, they had me to a body shop that afternoon. Found out yesterday the estimate is just about 4 grand, with the $500 deductible of course, unless they determine they can go after the other guy for it. I take her in Aug 25th and lose her for a week. What amazes me is that he missed the tailgate and bumper completely.

what, why wouldn't they go after the other guy for it? is a way around that deductible. have an insurance adjuster evaluate it and write you a check. then take the check to a place that will do the job cheaper (not worse, but for less expense).

I was out in it, I'm stationed out at Kings Point, we had just come in from a boat run when the heavens opened up. We were trapped on an aluminum boat (God that was loud) for a good 15-20 min.
