the dodge paint isn't that bad. the clear coat on these vehicles is on the soft side. which isn't a problem at all. it just means that it will swirl and scratch easily. if you don't have a good washing technique it will get micromarring on teh surface and look like hell in the sunlight. altho this is like 99% of the vehicles on the road. nice thing about this soft clear is it makes corrections ez. most of the time a light finishing polish or mild polish is all that is needed to level out the clear. rarely will a full otu compound polish be needed to fix problems.

Hmm, my take on the nig three.

FORD - I love them and have had very few problems. I've owned 4 expeditions and the only real problem I've had were the COP's which went out in a series at 75,000 miles. I've put about 200,000 miles on these vehicles. The Ford is an EXCELLENT casual off road vehicle and I've pulled many yukons and Tahoe's out of the sand as they sit lower...I've never pulled out a chevy pickup though. Excellent fit and finish on these. I'm a ford guy overall.

CHEVY - Best riding trucks on the highway. Very soft pulling large loads. Brother-in-law and sister have a horse farm and they pull huge horse trailers. They just had to let go of a chevy 2500 due to this. Chevy fit and finish is good, but over time seems to fall apart over time and start to rattle pretty much everywhere.

DODGE - I don't have as much experience here. However I've been VERY impressed! I've put about 37,000 miles on my 2500 (bought with 15,000 miles) and only have had problem when I put larger tires on. I don't like the large wheel wells as a normal tire looks lost in that cavern! Plenty of power, and I like the fit and finish. My paint is fine and it's an '03. I've taken it to the beach several times riding on the sand with lot's of salt. I'm still, to this day, toying with buying a new '08 model, but in the 1500. I love the Cool Chrome Vanilla models!
