Default New tires for my 2500 diesel 4x4??? (Newbie)

I have worn out of my stock Michelin 265/70/17s and am looking for a little more meat to fill my wheel wells without greatly affecting my power or sacrificing a lot of tread life. I was considering the BFG TA KOs in a 285/70/17. I drive mostly on the road, but need some off-road performance for the dirt roads at my hunting camp. Would this be a good choice for a heavy truck for tread life and traction? Could you put a 315/70/17 BFG under my truck without rubbing anywhere? What would that mean to my power? Any suggestions at all? Thanks!

if your trucks a desiel don't worry about it but if its a hemi, my truck stock with the 20's and goodyear 33" i still get 20mpg highway. i personally think the BFG's are the best tire for everything.

haha sorry I didn't even notice the diesel in the title. but don't worry about it. put it this way people lift diesels up 12"s and put huge 44"s tires. A little bit bigger tire isn't going to do anything.
