Default Lumbar support broken

OK got into truck and POP seat went flat and lumbar **** fell off, I'm not that heavy (about 200lbs.). Did some searching and I'm not the only one. Took the assembly apart ( not that hard, **** pulls off and plastic star center unscrews) and the white threaded plastic piece broke. This part pulls on a little rod to give support (it doesn't turn the rod like some thought). Pulled seat covering over the **** holder and can see the back of rod where it's attached, took needle nose and pulled towards door, that's how it makes the support. I was able to wedge a small hard rubber grommet in to hold. Only thing I can't figure out is how would you replace the white plastic piece ? It seems you have to remove the little rod and slip it back through, but I can't see how? Anyone Know ? TIA

I would look in the junkyards for a replacement... probably the same part used in all dodge trucks, dakotas, etc. and just replace it. It is made from plastic, so it probably wore out or whatever, a repair may just not do.

sorry to hear that it broke

these special glues work better on plastics than others:

wrapping aluminum foil around that outside of a part is a way to reinforce it,
but do this as a secondary step after successfully gluing the plastic

Thanks for the advice, but replacing or repairing the plastic piece is not the problem, it's getting the white threaded part back into the small rod. The rod has to go through the plastic piece and I don't see any way to get the rod assembly apart.
