I have a 04 2wd 1500 that I’ve put a rough country 2" spring level on with their nitro 9000 series shock. Drove it like that for 6 months, shock bushing are blown. I assume it’s because of the nearly extended shocks so I ordered the cst upper control arm kit to allow for more travel and now I’m having problems finding shocks for it. I want to find some for a 2" lift but could i put some for a 3" or 4" without to many problems?

I think mmstar went through this on his leveled 4x2. PM him and find out what he did. I think the answer is 2" longer shocks, but I'm not sure. I think I remember him posting specific brand & model #'s. I've done three body lifts on the three previous trucks I've had and the Rancho 9000Xs came with the 4" Rancho suspension kit I put on my current ride, so I've not had this issue...

my rancho's are on the way. coming from a buddy of mine on another forum. theyll be here wednesday. now for a 2wd, theres another option a very good one at that. 2" longer shocks are perfect for the leveling kit on a 4x2. 4" longer sounds too much and would bottom out on some good drops. now if you have trouble finding a 2" longer shock, which you SHOULD! then your answer is getting a shock made for a 2500 2wd. the shocks are exactly 2" longer and fit right in on the 1500 2wd. if you want rancho's i got the part #
