I guess it's a custom tune, sort of. But yea, they'll do small simple stuff if enough people inquire and it does not interfere with their precious CARB certification. They've moved 2nd prime for many, adjusted the idle, stuff like that...

Well I re-set the SC back to stock and tried to program it again. It is still the same. There is some power gain, but not what I was expecting. And as for the transmission... it is still slipping them in soft as ever. So it did not firm up the shift points. I am not sure what is wrong. I guess I will give SC a call tomorrow.

I think you are going to find that they tell you the 3714 does firm up the tranny, but heck, it can't hurt to call and ask...

The 3815 was for 2004+ trucks only. Their site said it wouldn't work with 03, although today it is listed as being compatible. Their chart of available options still shows it as 04+, even though above that part it says 03+.

Is anyone here using a 3815 on a 2003 truck? Is it any better (or different) than the 3715?

The 3715 works on 03's as it's the one I have, and it definitely does increase shift firmness. Shift points and 2nd prime are not adjustable because the 03 has separate transmission & engine computers where 04+ has everything in one unit.

Well I called SC this morning. It took them a minute to look it up... I think that they had forgotten about the 3714 since it has been long discontinued. Anyway, this specific tuner does NOT adjust the shift points / firmness. I am also betting that since it is not updatable that the newer tuners are prob better. I think I will order a newer programer.
