Whilst moving forward at about 3-5 mph, put your column shifter into neutral.
Then EASE the 4wd shifter on the transmission tunnel into neutral then lo.
Then put your column shifter back into drive and all should be good.
You MUST also do this proceedure, to get back into 2wd hi.
Be patient and practise and go easy, when moving the ratio shifter into the various 4wd hi 2wd neutral and 4wd lo positions.
If you here ANY ginding or gear crunching, ease it back.
Hope this helps?
Al.
Well, did some reading and in the owners manual it is almost verbatim as above , went out in the yard and did the above and it slipped right into 4 lo?
Weird.

not weird at all, you're trying to mesh gears spinning at different speeds. if they aren't lined up when you stop, it just won't go. one of them has to be moving so at some point they line up. if you're pushing on them to engage right when they line up, bingo.
