Default noise????

I recently had some Pacesetter headers installed on my 06 ram. after they were on when i step on the gas there is some weird noise. its sounds like a lot of ticks almost like a glass pack on my truck or something. does anybody know what this is and what to do to get rid of it. would putting some performance catylic converters on get rid of the ticking noise? or will they not matter....

Probably an exhaust leak. Look around and see if there is any black sooty residue around any gaskets or flanges.

You can use a stethiscope to pinpoint them pretty good too

There is a proceedure to fitting headers with regards to the header bolts.
If this isn't followed, the bolts loosen.
There are also special upgrades to these header bolts that stop them loosening, with the heat/cool cycles they undergo.
Have a look at Moe's performance site. They sell them and I'll bet that your header bolts are loose and that's what your hearing?

If the place you had them done did not go through the procedure of tightening the bolts, then letting the truck heat up as hot as it's gonna get, then re-tighten, your bolts are going to be loose.
You need to check them, but only hand tighten with a small wrench, you strip one out in those soft aluminum heads and now you got yourself a problem.
It's common for them to loosen up when they are new, especially if the above procedure is not followed. I check mine at every oil change and in about 6000 miles or so, I've had a couple start to walk out, but only a half turn or so.
If you see they are loose, and you are really worried about it, get the locking bolts from Moe's. I'm not really happy with the gasket that came with my Pacesetters and will probably replace over the winter (when it's much nicer to climb under and work here in Fl.) and will probably go to the locking ones then, as I'll have to take them all out to change to the better Mopar gasket...
