Hello all! I'm a new 08 Dodge Ram w/ Hemi owner here in the next few hours. I'm trading in a 06 Jeep Grand with the 4.7. Main reason I am "moving up" is to get a smoother towing for our travel trailer. We've had some challenges with the Jeep actually doing it well.
Wondered if there was any advice or must know for someone new, simple questions like oil type, fuel filter swaps, air intakes, aftermarket leather, towing mirrors (slip over type) etc. It will need to stay stock for a while but wanted to know what the normal tweaks/changes are here. I am was glad to see there was a 'Ram' forum as I used to participate pretty actively in the Jeep forums.
Mike!

I have owned four GC's, three were the ex's daily driver and after the divorce I could not live without one so I picked up a mint condition used '02 Overland. But my truck is and always will be my baby (I've had seven 4x4 pick ups since I turned 16, twenty-five years ago). Jeep GCs are great vehicles, but not great towers, they have the power, especially the V8's, but lack the body weight and wheel base to effectively tow. Not so with a full size Dodge, the Hemi will not disappoint you.
Most start out with the "big 3" mods. Cat back, CAI and Tuner (usually the Superchips 3815)...
