new tires????
I'm looking for new tires for my 07 1500 4WD. I'm going to put a 2.5" leveling kit on the truck. My question is what do you think of interco tires? I want something aggresive looking. I'm also looking at Nitto terragrapplers. Thanks in advance.
The Grapplers would probably be a good tire. I'd be leary of going too aggressive if you really don't need it. Last time I went to a mud tire because it looked cool but in reality it was harsh on my wheel bearings because of the size and weight, decreased my fuel economy by about 2 mpg and not to mention they don't last very long mileage wise. I would go with a larger size grappler or other mild all terrain tire setup myself next time around.
what interco exactly? theres some that are exteme and others that are not so bad. im considering an irok for the cummins because of the size i need which is a 39". but the 2 tires you asking about are comptley differnt in tread styleing. from very agressive (superswamper) to a not very agressive tire, the terra grapplers. depends on what you plan on doing and what you want!
I would do a BF Goodrich All terrain. They have the aggressive look, while still giving you the smooth ride. I have a 2" level on my 1500 with 33" Bf Goodrich All terrains...and it rides great still and gives it that aggressive look.
I have the same truck and setup as you are wanting. I put the 2.5 TGC leveling kit on and run 33x12.50x17's ProComp MudTerrains with 17x9 wheel. I ran a set of the NittoTerra Grapplers but didn't think they looked aggresive enough for me. the ProComps are supprisngly pretty quiet. If not those I would rec' Micky Thompson's or BF KM2's. I would stay away from the BFG All-Terrains, IMO they look really outdated with all the new types of tires out now.
OK, something aggressive & Interco makes sense but the terra grapplers and aggressive usually are not used in the same sentence...
You looking for an aggressive M/T, an A/T or a hybrid between the two?

BFG KM2's have my vote. Traction that's all you want and more on or off road. I have put mine to the extreme off road and they have come through with flying colors. There are two down sides to them, and most off road tires, fuel consumption leaves a little to be desired and their durability. The beefier the tire the worse the fuel consumption. The softer the rubber the better the traction but the faster they wear out.

Personally I like the idea of the M16's. For years the only "true hybrid" tread tire (cross between an A/T and M/T tread) were the Dick Cepek Fun Country II's. It appears that after years of them doing so well, others are jumping on the band wagon. Interco markets the M16 as a true hybrid.
