Default Eletrical Problems

Hello, Everyone !!!

I'm having an issue with my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 when I go to use the electric window control to roll the windows down the patten has changed...top left should be left front window and top right should be right front window and so on... Well the RF window is on the left rear slot and the LR is on the right top and RR on the right bottom...

I looked at the connector and there is only one way for this plug to go in so where can the wire mix up be???

I did buy the truck used, I do have a Repair Manual on it's way to check out the wiring diagram... is there another place where the wires could be crossed before it gets to the door... all the door switches work just fine but the master on the drivers door is all wacked....

Thanks in Advacned,

- Jim

It certainly sounds like the switch or plug is turned 180 degrees out.

I would try to take the plug out and regardless of the one way thing, try to turn it around.

OK.... I tried to turn the plug around but it only fits in there one way it's almost as if the wires were swapped to a different position... To top it off i'm looking at the power windows wire diagram and I see two different ways it could be wired to the master switch in the driver door WTF is this about??

Can anyone list the correct order the wires should be located on the master power windows switch please !!!! When I get home will post up what I have, i'm at a total loss.. At least all the windows work just not in the correct order they should...

Can you pull the pins out and reinsert them in the correct place? Has it always done this? Did anyone do any work recently in the door panel? Do you have knowledgeable mischievous friends (I did something similar to this once..)?

I bought this Ram used about two months ago and was sold as is... I thought about moving the wires around since it's only two windows that are affected and should be alittle bit easier.. The biggest problem is the PDF repair manual I have shows power going from master to all the doors but two pages show two different wiring hook ups so i'm sure they messed up and it's a typo.... I guess i'll have to check out the affected door and check wire colors to move it around on the master switch...
