I think I read the Dakota is available with a 4.7 manual trans. Anyone know if the new Ram might offer the Hemi with a manual transmission? later edit..... I meant 2006 shortbed.

 

They do already, but you have to get it in a 2500.

 

yup, the 04's and earlier models will have the NV4500. it is a 5 speed manual, the only 6 speed you can get is with the HO Cummins.

the 05's will have the GETRAG G56, I'm not 100% on this but I think they will only offer the 6 speed.

Right now it looks like the only six-speed Hemi combo will be in the Power Wagon.
Yes, the Hemi will be paired with a manual tranny. Always will be an option. Weather they will reduce it down to one manual setup or not remains to be seen. It would make sense to pair the gasoline engine trucks with only one choice of manual tranny, for cost sake. So it may very well be that the six-speed will be a choice with the 1500 Hemi trucks.
