Question Minimum Rotor Thickness

OK, my Ram was built in March 04. The factory service manual lists the minimum thickness for the rear brake rotors at 1.117 inch. That can't be right because mine measure 0.863 inch, and there is still plenty of brake pad left. I special ordered the truck from the factory and the brakes have never been worked on. I used a calibrated micrometer, so I know my measurement is correct. The front rotors fit the spec limit listed in the manual for those, so only the rear brake rotors are a puzzle. I'm wondering if they made a running change during the model year and went to a thinner rotor.

I know there must be several of you out there that have the 05 Ram service manual. What does the manual list for the minimum rotor thickness for the rear brake rotors of a 1500 series (LD) 2005 Ram?

My 04 manual say;

ROTOR MINIMUM THICKNESS
Measure rotor thickness at the center of the brake
shoe contact surface. Replace the rotor if below minimum
thickness, or if machining would reduce thickness
below the allowable minimum.
Rotor minimum thickness is usually specified on
the rotor hub. The specification is either stamped or
cast into the hub surface.

My '03 shop manual has this info. There's almost a contradiction.
Front Disc Brake Rotor 336×28 mm (13.2×1.1in.)
Front/Rear Disc Brake Rotor Max. Runout 0.127 mm (0.005 in.)
Front/Rear Disc Brake Rotor Max. Thickness Variation 0.025 mm (0.001 in.)
Minimum Front Rotor Thickness 26.4 mm (1.039 in.)
Mininium Rear Rotor Thickness 28.39 mm (1.117 in)
Rear Disc Brake Rotor 350x22 mm (.86 in)
