if you are getting damage due to the pipe being too close to the tire, take it back to Buds.

Nice pics

That looks nice Jeepis. I have the 4.7 as well, and wanted to do the exact same thing: weld in a new muffler and exhaust tip, but use the stock tubing. I am glad the results were favorable. I need to check that out.

Thanks for the great pics.

BTW, do you know the part# for that muffler?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I wanted to clear this up: The factory setup was causing a slight amount of heat damage to the spare tire. After I took it to Bud's, they were able to readjust the rear tailpipe enough so that there is a bit more clearance, and hopefully, this should help to minimize any heat damage to the spare tire. Also, the fact that winter is coming up should help as well!

As far as the part # for the muffler, unfortunately, I don't know it. I never kept the box or packaging materials. I'll take a look at the muffler later today if I can, but I don't remember a # being stamped anywhere on it.

I'm glad these pictures and this writeup are helpful. Oh yeah, by the way, I decided to stick with my 20's. The guy said he'd call me again next week, so I told him to call me when he's ready to trade his 17's plus $500 cash. I think that's a good deal, and I really am looking for 17's, but I'd rather have the steel black painted Soft 8's. Had them on my Jeep and I loved them!

Yeah I would keep your 20's then. Easier to sell. You can buy those soft 8's for pretty cheap. like 85 a wheel i believe on jegs. I really want some. But I don't want to pay to get my tires remounted.

Anybody else have this problem? Ever since I added my Magnaflow exhaust, my truck feels like a dog at lower rpm's. I think I gained power, but I gained it where I rarely use it, at around 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm. The day to day driving where I'm around 1000-2500 rpm, I think I've lost a bunch of torque. Maybe the magnaflow flows too well and doesn't provide enough backpressure that you need for the low down torque. argh, I don't know what to do.

I had that done too when I got my truck, Line x that is. Tint, new tires and fiberglass topper to boot.
