Question Is it possible to get a fully loaded 08 1500 Laramie Megacab for less than $25,000???

Hi everyone,
I am hoping to buy myself a new Ram in the next week or two. With all the year end savings going on right now and the fact that the dealers are nearly giving away the quad cabs right now at more than half off their msrps, I am wondering if it would be possible to get a Laramie for less than $25,000 out the door including everything.

So far the best offer I have gotten by casually calling a few random dealers with megacabs in stock has been $28,000 with title and everything else, however I seriously think they can get much lower than that.

Anyone have any thoughts or experiences???
Thanks in advanced!
Adam

Doubt it. I got a kick *** deal on mine msrp was 40 I got it for 27668 plus tax tag so if you get a mega cab laramie for 28 take it but im sure if you go in and push and shove a little you might get a better deal.

Depends on your negotiating skills...calling around won't get your best price. I dunno about fully loaded at 25k out the door but you can get a megacab for that price.

If you do, you will be a negotiating god. I got my mega for $23500. It was stickered for $38k and mine is only a SLT. The main reason I got it that cheap was it was a left over '06 that I bought in mid '07 new.

I think if you can get them to $28000 on the phone, you should be able to get them lower when you go down there. I don't know how low, but alittle anyway.

Not sure where you are located, but I went to Dave Smith Motors in Idaho to get my price then shopped it locally. Got my local dealer to beat it! Everyone told me that was impossible. Might also want to try Costco, believe it or not...

I got mine for $12K under MSRP.

I would be Interested in finding out what kind of deal you get so please post back when you get it. I see the advertisements for the deals on Ram 1500s all the time, from what i can tell the 40% off is the $9000 in rebates they are offering so i built my truck online and it came out $1000 more than i paid in 2007, The MSRP on my truck was $32000 and the same truck 2008 is $36000 MSRP. I had the $5000 cash allowance and ended up paying $26000 for mine in March of 2007. I see dealer adds for $12000 and $18000 for 2008 Ram 1500s but I think its just bait and switch?

Thanks everyone for replying!

So I guess the megacab is not going for as low as I thought it may of been going for. Even though the prices for the megacab are really good, I'm thinking I might just get a quad cab and save something like $10,000...

I have not gone to any of my local dealers in person as only one of them has a megacab in stock and I first wanted to see how low I could get it for from out of town/state dealers before going in and demanding a low price, which would probably just backfire on me and loose my chance of getting a good deal locally rather than driving out a couple hundred miles, which is something I do not really mind for a good deal, but ideally I would want to get my new Ram close to home.

Previously when I bought a new truck and suv, I would always manage to get good deals by asking each dealer to write me a competitive price on the vehicle I am looking at, and then once all the dealers give me a price, I go to each dealer asking them if they can beat the lowest price I got back, and then the process goes over and over.....
Eventually I was able to always get a good deal in the end. The problem with the 08 megacab is only a few dealers even have them in stock so it is basically impossible to do that method.

So right now it looks like I might end up buying a quadcab. Since it the difference is basically just a couple inchs in the interrior, it is not the end of the world. And for the money I save, I can just buy a whole lot of other things to make up for it. Besides, I am not the one sitting in the back anyways. :-)

I'm still going to try to go to the dealer with the megacab in stock and try to bring it down to perhaps ~$25k (ish).

Either way, I'll still be getting a hell of a deal. The prices they are giving the Rams away at are simply insane.
It will probably be around next week when I'll have time to go to the dealers in person and figure out what I am going to get in the end. If I do end up buying, I'll post my results. :-)

Take care,
Adam

We have a dealer down in the Houston area that was doing true half-price off the sticker. I bought an SXT for $16000 and it stickered at $31,800.
My friend bought an SLT with Hemi for $20,000.
