Default Synthetic Oil Change frequency

The dealership keeps calling, e-mailing, and snail-mailing me to come in for service every 2,000 miles. I switched to synthetic a while back and was wondering what's the frequency of oil change for synthetic vs. conventional? I'd like to stay away from the dealership as long as possible, due to the fact that they over-price all their services. Besides, I haven't got but 21,000 miles and my truck is an '04.

If I do alot of city driving on a change, then I will go around 3 to 5k miles. If I do alot of hwy driving, then I will wait 7-8k. I do check my oil every time I fill up though just in case, and this sometimes will make me do the job earlier or later.

6K is what 08 service manual states, which would be conventional, so I cannot imagine doing it sooner than that with syn.

If you do stretch it out to a 10k oci, be sure the filter is up to the task as well. I can see a quality synthetic going 10k, but the filter may run out before that.

I change mine annually or around 6k miles also. Most of my driving is in the city and it tows the boat often. I have 8800 miles in 16 months of having the truck.

There are two service schedules, A and B. Generally most fall into the one which states 3K.

I'm running Amsoil. Amsoil claims it's good for 7500 miles, I'm changing it very 6000
