Slowly Reversing with wheel turned vibrates entire truck
I have an '05 Ram 1500 QC that i purchased used with 26,000 miles on it. I've been noticing when I'm at a stop, and the wheel is turned and I slowly go in reverse my entire truck shakes. It feels like the shaking starts in the rear axle, I am not positive on that tho. Sometimes this happens when I am turning from a stop going forward, its just not as violent as the reverse.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this would be happening?
Thanks

Yep, rear differential. My was making the exact same noise/vibration in the same way. Slightly turned wheel going in reverse would create a deep hum/vibration sound.
I changed my rear diff fluid, checking to make sure nothing was damaged in the gears. I also added a little extra of the LSD additive, my noise is completely gone.

What is this LSD additive?
Thanks for the comments/solutions
limited slip differential additive. Its a small tube that you add before you add your gear oil if you have a limited slip diff. although most good synthetic gear oils already have the additive in them. If you do have limited slip its good to add it, if you dont have lsd, its ok to use the synthetics that have it in anyway. you"ll be able to tell if you have lsd if you take off your diff cover and dont see all the gears. If you can see them all its just an open diff.
