Sub options
yea i might have to fiber glass the holes in the sheet metal behind the carpet but the seats would also be mounted ontop of the mdf so the bolts would help keep the box from flexing and so I can get the maximun airspace by going all the way to the back wall. I might have to raise the mdf a little to get my subs to fit but Im guessing I'll get around 3cu ft out of everything. I think I might just jump into this.
^^^^^ thats what i have too...my type R subs wouldnt fit so i had to put a quarter in spacer on it which caused my seats not to fold so i had to raise my seats. you are correct though it rattles like crazy. i like that idea of mdf'in our crates as a whole..i wonder if that would work...sounds like it would if you seal it right
I agree, I also have a box similar to the one above with 2 10" Polk Momo subs. I choose them because of the reviews and because they did not require a ton of air space. I still think they sound like crap at high volumes. I have a newer Rockford amp which gives more then enough power, and to tune the system in, I had it all wired, and went through all the settings to come up with the best possible sound. It "sounds" good, but it does not bump at all. I'd be interested in seeing how the project worked.
