hey all, first post, good to be back on a forum!

Ive heard some rumors, that on a 4x4 4.7, depending on the gears, i might have to change the front differential carrier? I havent looked under the truck yet, but how true is this?

I currently have on the front, the 8.0 differential. (Im dang near positive about that.) I have 3.55 gears, and want to change to 4.56's.

Also, if i do it myself, what kind of price am i looking at, versus having a shop do it. I am mechanically able to do it... just dont know if i want to do it..haha
