Default Need an opinion on a 2008 ram

So, I was able to talk the local Dodge Dealership down from around $30,000 for a brand new 2008 ram to $20,000. I'm talking 5.7 Hemi, fully loaded, lifetime warranty, top of the line beautiful truck. Nothing beats it. $20,000 is pushing my budget still for a new vehicle, but I think it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity... seeing as Dodge is hurting, the economy is hurting and the 2009 rams are coming in, I don't know if this deal will get any better. I would be putting $5,000 down and paying $500 monthly, I just need to make sure I have a decent interest rate.

I need an opinion... yes or no, and why?

Thanks!

Alot of dealers are going to 50% off MSRP. Id shoot to get him down at least another 2000 to 18K for the rig. At this point you really have nothing to lose pitching that offer. Just be ready to sign on the dotted line at the time. Make it known if you get it for 18K you will do it then and there to give him a small push. Just my .02

Sounds like a nice price, but those payments add up. Consider how much your total transportation costs will be. Payment+Insurance+Gas+Maintence.... If you're talking $500/month just for the payment you could easily be looking at around $1000/month just to drive it...

The sticker price on my truck was almost $34,000 and I got them to give me 50% off. With the life time warranty and a couple of add ons I walked out the door at about $18,0000 and change. I went to Autoway Doge in Clearwater Florida. Maybe if you get them to give you a quote and bring it to your dealership they will match it. I had a trade in worth $5,000 and my payments are $380.

Awesome, thanks a lot guys!
I've got the dealership stuck at $22,000 right now. Any tips on how I might be able to bring them down more? seeing as I'm young they are probably going to try and take what they can get. I told them I'm not buying if my interest rate is high. Also, what is everyone paying for insurance? I live in California.

Fingers crossed!
Gotta sell my 02... not bites yet.

You should be able to get them around $18,000, keep trying! As for how much I pay for insurance, I pay $45 a month, but I am 34 years old, and married.

As far as Ins, every time I go car shopping, I give my Ins guy a ring, and tell him what i'm looking at, and he gives me a quote. It varies for location, how many cars, your record, and other factors. If I were you, give your ins agent a call! I think you can get it for about 18-20K out the door.

You have a 02 Ram? If so that may never sell! See if the dealer will take it in on trade.
