Gears
considering the level of money spent
why not switch to a Dana 60 differential
or a Ford 9?
Why be limited to 4.56 or 4.88 (which are weak pinion tooth designs anyway)
when the Dana60 is both stronger
has better pinion bearing design than a 9.25
and has a much wider ratio spread?
spending considerable money on a 9.25 diff
is like trying to hot rod the engine
on a Yugo

How do you know the gears? I read on here that 4.56s run 2000 rpm @ 70mph. So if my truck has those, I don't have the take-off power, the 0-60 speeds, the mpg boost, nothing really.
But I'd say 4.56 in anything, or a Dana rear-end. I've always wanted a Dana.

there should be a sticker wrapped around the axle just inside of the rear right wheel. you won't ahve 4.56 gears, those are not offered from factory.
and Hank, disagree..again
at worst putting gears in a 9.25 is like building up a beetle, not a yugo. might not be the best idea around, but they seem to have quite the following and if done right, run like hell. we have at least 3 good sources saying that's its a good idea (hammer, OE, Nitto).
edit: 4, forgot Air Ram

I have a 2008 Ram 1500 w/Hemi BigHorn QC, with 3.92 gears already. would switching to 4.56 gears make my truck faster? I have 22" SRT-10 rims with 305/40/22 tires.
Also, where would I buy these gears, whats a good brand and how much?
Thanks
