Default HIDs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyR9maO8GY0

I installed Xentec 8000K HIDs in my headlights and fog on friday and I love them!!! no flashing problems or anything, and they are a great kit for a fraction of the price of some! (no im not a seller of them) just thought i would post a video i made of them.

with that being said, and no flashing problems, i do have 1 problem. i guess it draws enough power that it takes away from my radio signal. my CD and aux (iPod) on my truck work fine, but when you turn on the HIDs the radio gets a lot of static but the CD and aux are fine. i listen to my radio a lot, and would like to fix this issue! is there anything i can do to increase the signal strength of my FM radio? maybe somethin to the antenna? please help.

Looks good, the only problem I see is the glare above the cut off still. Are those your fog lights? reffering to 2:04 into the video.

the static in the radio in probably due to the transformers for the lights, might want to try noise trap on the power wire of the radio, and maybe one for the antennae too

thanks VA autotech. will they sell that at radioshack? and if i just go in to a place like that and tell them i need a noise trap, will they know what im talking about?

Nate: the glare actually comes from the headlight itself. reflection from the bottom of the headlight, under the projector is reflected upward. i felt a lot better that im NOT blinding everyone who passes me, since i have projectors, and even with the little amount of glare, i have yet to be flashed.

Makes sense. Are you using a aftermarket wire harness for those HID's or are you using the stock? Might want to look into getting one if you don't..

its the stock wiring harness. why would i want to look into an aftermarket one? is the factory not letting enough current pass or something? a heat issue?

Well a lot of people recommend getting a aftermarket one because of people having melting issues of the stock wire harness, just a safety precaution, it may aslo help with your electrical issue aswell. What size bulb do you use?

well ive been doing a good amount of research on the interferance issue, and it seems somewhat common. people either say check the ground, or get a noise filter/ ferrite on the ballast. maybe tomorrow ill try and ground it right to the chasis of the bumper where the ballast is mounted. if that doesnt work, ill try and find a noise trap.

my headlight bulbs are H1's and the fogs are 9006. ill keep check on my factory harness' and if i see anything weird ill get some aftermarket ones.
