Question Electral problems

I HAVE A 2005 DODGE RAM 2500. MY HUSBAND AND I DRIVE TRUCK AND ARE GONE FOR SOMETIMES 3 TO 4 NONTHS. WE REPLACED BOTH BATTERIES. AND EVERY TIME WE COME HOME THE BATTERIES ARE DEAD. CAN ANY ONE TELL ME HOW MANY AMPS THAT IS DRAWN? AND HOW I CAN PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPING AGAIN?

Welcome to DF. Before you leave, disconnect the IOD- Ignition Off Draw fuse OR remove both negative battery cables.

You can also get a small inexpensive trickle charger and leave it on the battery when you are away, uses next to no electricity and you know you'll always come home to a fully charged battery. I always kept one on the cranking battery in my bass boat because I used it infrequently and never had a problem thereafter...
