The base challenger SE has the 250hp 3.5L V6.
The R/T has a 370hp 5.7L MDS with auto trans and 375hp non MDS with manual trans.
The SRT8 is a 425hp 6.1L Hemi with an auto or manual.
I really like the soon to be available classic R/T that is B5 blue with black stripes and chrome torque thrust wheels. SWEEET!
I wonder why they didn't use a MDs version of the 6.1L with a smaller cam for the trucks. Would have been torquey as hell!!
My dealer has a Black SRT-10 on the lot with only 4,130 miles on it. Sweet!!!!

Every muscle car even back in the day had a slant 6 as the base engine. The 318 was the next step up. This includes Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Satellites. Only the Road Runner didn't (at least until 1979 or so, and those don't count).

No Hemi emblems on the hood and no rear spoiler is the SE V6.
I was watching on Youtube where a magazine was comparing the SRT8 Auto vs a Bullitt 5-speed Mustang. The heavier Challenger whooped it in every category.
The Challenger weighs about 700lbs more but has 110 more hp and about 100 more lb/ft of torque. I'll bet the 6-speed SRT8 is awesome!!
