Default pro comp shocks?

ok this may flag me as a newb but, i just installed daystar 2.5" spacers on the front end of my 2002 dodge ram quadcab 2wd and i also purchased a full set of pro comp es9000, the spacers went on fine, but when i went to put on the shocks and the bottom end of the shock did not match the cantilever bottom of the stock shocks and there is no way to mount them. i tried to pull the cantilever end out of the stock ones but that wasnt working with the limited tool supply i have. was pro comp supposed to supply a piece to press into the bottom end of the shock or am i supposed to be able to get the bottom piece out of the stock shock? any ideas would be helpful.
