Default hear is a stumper!!

hey all, its been a while but im back for a spell and been looking around the site seen alot of you still hear (hammer , dodgenitto ect.) but i have a question hope you all can answer . well some of ya no my rig 04 ram 1500 4x4. i am wanting to get the truxx 3" keys installed and put some blocks in the rear. my question is...i have the stock keys leveled out on the truck now will the new keys go higher than the stockers when leveled out. in other words will the new 3" keys give me more height than maxed out stockers.
and if so how high. and what size rear blocks shoud i go with 2" , 3" or 4". keep in mind im running 33x12.50-20 nitto mud grapplers. just trying to get a little more height. my thinking was if the 3" keys go 3" higher than my maxed out stock keys i was going to go with a 3" rear block to re-level her out. thanks for the help guys good to be back.

come on fellas i know you can help me, im not going to order the new torsion keys untill i find out these questions i really need your help i have searched over 2 hours on hear and found nothing to support my questions.
hear is another way of looking at it maby you guys just dont understand.....say you have factory torsion keys now and you leveled your truck (the factory keys are maxed out lift wise) you want 3 more inchs of lift from where your factory maxed keys are now. so you want to buy the aftermarket 3" keys with relocating bracket from truxxs . will the new keys be able to meet the same height as the maxed out stockers now plus give me 3" more??? thats the question.
if i can get 3" more with new keys ill ad 3" block in rear = all round 3" lift and the best part all leveled from front to rear

The 3" keys will lift the front more then just cranking the stock keys! I am not sure how much, but I tried cranking the front keys and it was just not enough! I then went with the 3" keys and it did the trick! After a year of break in my rear add a leaf has leveled itself out with the 3" front keys! If you want a higher front and a level truck then I would do the 3" keys and a 1-2" block!

thats what i wanted to hear dodgenitto, so did you have your stock keys cranked all the way for max lift?? and when you put on your new 3" keys did you get more lift than the stockers that were maxed out?? im thinking ill get a little more lift out of the 3" keys maxed than i will the factory keys maxed right?? there for im going to need 3" blocks in the rear to get it level again right???? you have been a great help

Yes I tried to just crank the stock keys and that was not enough lift! I then went with 3" keys and all I needed to do was remold the wheel wells and a little trimming! But with the stock keys There was NO way they would work! If you want a level look, the front is 2" or so lower then the rear stock! So if you want level, then go with the 3" front keys and 1-2" rear block! To be safe go with 2"! You might end up with the rear 1" higher, but that will be hardly noticeable!

hey dodgenitto, did you have to use a relocation bracket for your front shocks?
and what key kit did you get? any special tools needed.

No I did not need any relocation brackets! I bought a generic pair of keys off ebay! I did mine at a friends shop and used a 36" pry bar and an air ratchet set!

ramhunter, don't confuse what he's saying with what you want to hear. the 3" keys will NOT give you 3" more than the stock keys maxed out. They might give you another inch or so, but the length of your shafts and control arms and the extreme angles on everything will keep you from getting any more no matter how hard you crank the bars.
