ignition question

Default ignition question

so i was lookin around ebay today and they sell a shortie wireset for the new hemis? goes from the coil to the plug next to it instead of under the intake to the other side..will this set off any trouble codes? will it be like having MSD? i was thining about this before i sawl it online but now its got me really thinkin about it, thanks for any input guys

The shortie wires will somewhat make your ignition setup kind of like the 06+ hemis...each coil will fire both plugs for it's own cylinder. I dunno if it'll set codes or not.

Do you mean MSD as in the aftermarket ignition nsystem or do you mean MDS as in the 8 to 4 cylinder thing?

yeah i meant MSD as in the aftermarket, cuz from my understanding the coil plug that goes the the opposite side of the engine only fires in the exhaust stroke to burn up any unburned fuel, so if you route the plug wire to the same spark plug that sites beside it, it would fire both plugs at once right?

Yes it would fire both plugs at once. The thing is the 06+ hemi's and the 6.1 hemi's fire both plugs at the same time on the same cylinder...so I don't see why the 03-05's can't or shouldn't.

Do it! The engine will be fine, the crate 5.7's that were originally available had this done at the factory.
