2004 Ram 1500 4x4 with steering wheel wobble
RE: Daimler Technical Service Bulletin # 22-005-06
Shaking occurs when a portion of the vehicle has a mechanical resonance frequency which receives energy from another connected source. This could be a multiple of the shake frequency, not just the identical wave frequency. e.g. The front end resonant frequency might be a multiple of the Tire rotation frequency or the engine / drive frequency.
The only solution is to change the shaking section (Usually the front-end suspension) frequency. This may involve significant modifications. The dampner appears to be a major factor. Use a new dampner with different characteristics which will dampen instead of amplifying the shake / vibration frequency of the front-end assembly.

I still have this annoying wobble, it can't be the tires out of round. The reason I say this is, if I am sitting at a light, take my foot off the brake without stepping on gas and it slowly starts moving I can see my wheel go back and fourth when I am trolling with no gas. Could this be a hub assembly?
I have new rotors and steering rack.
I have new rotors and steering rack.
i just had this same problem, when i was cruising on the highway the steering wheel would shudder terribly and the entire truck would vibrate around 60mph +. the dealer replaced the right rack and power steering pump and one of the belts in my rear passenger tire let go, so i put new coopers on and the truck is back to normal. i also got an alignment done, that could be the issue too, check the alignment and bring it to a reputable shop.
[QUOTE=boom38;1432849]I have a 2004 Ram 1500 4x4 with a bad steering wheel wobble when driving. It goes away after 100km/hr. I have been doing some reading on the forums that it could be rotors, but wouldn't it pulsate worse when I step on the brakes? cause this truck doesn't when I step on the brakes.
Could it possible be rack and pinion?
I have rotated the tires and am running 35lbs air in all 4 tires. Still the same wobble.
Any other things to look for?
It is the steering stabilizer is bad.

so i took it to get balanced and sure enough the band inside the tire broke .
Thanks for the help
