Thumbs up

2005 2wd Ram 1500 Quad Cab Hemi, I do mostly all highway driving, and get 21 mpg pretty consistantly, driving around town usually about 17. I occasionally tow a 21 foot travel trailer weighing around 5000lbs, i get around 14 with it. Lowest I've ever gotten was a 40 mile drive pulling a 9,000 pound enclosed work trailer (generator mounted on the toungue, air conditioner unit inside, and a bunch of miscallaneous tools) , with a bed full of ductwork supplies. I got 12 on that drive. This is all taken from the computer reading, I dont care enough to calculate it myself, lol.

When I drive it I get about 18-20. When my wife drives it she gets about 15-16.

I commute to work 80 miles per day, 60-70% hwy & 30-40% city. 14-15 mpg at 65 mph.

Um, and the 2500s are about 1000lbs heavier empty too (comparing the quad cab 4x4 versions 1500 vs 2500). Thanks I am feeling better about my mileage now!

Someone posted that the diesels get better mileage because of the turbos....um..NO. Turbos help air intake, therefore increasing horsepower. I don't believe they help gas mileage.

Anyway, I get around 17.5 in town. On a recent evacuation trip from Hurricane Ike, I averaged almost 21 on the highway. I have the 5-speed automatic and the 3.21 rear end. At 70mph, I am barely turning 1500 rpms.

And now that gas is back around $2.35 per gallon, I may start putting my foot in it a little more!! LOL

Currently Averaging around 16.1 mixed driving (highway/city) took a 300 mile trip last weekend to get away for a while (all highway driving) averaged 18.6mpg... not to bad I guess

How'd you get a 3.21 rear...is that an option for only the 4.7?
