I hear you there. I regularly go above 2grand, as there are several hills around here. If it were all flat, or nearly flat, that'd be different...

I drove a back road with a speed limit of 50mph, it has lots of hills. I stuck the cruise on 52mph for 256.7 miles and I used 11.11 gal, worked out to 23.1 mpg. In canadian gallons I got 26.8 mpg. 43 Lt for 414km. If I sped up going down hills and let it coast up hills, I could of done better.... but I couldn't keep my foot out of the gas so I had to set the cruise. LOL

They're talking about in city also...light throttle will keep you under 2000rpms. With 3.55 gears i'm running around 1900rpms doing 65ish...i'll double check next time i'm on the highway.

Im getting about 500-520 km's a tank of 87 octane (98L)...which equals 12.5 mpg...pretty low.

bone stock truck Hemi, 3.55 ratio, qc, but i think its due to the frequent cold starts, i would say about 5-7 a day. Theres also only 4500 kms on the odometer which is around 2900 miles

I'm thinking of putting on a cold air intake, superchips or predator, and maybe headers and a new exhaust...how much mpg and hP increase would you think i would get...and the mpg...i would be driving probably very conservatively

Probably 2-4. depends on how you drove before and drive after. Headers with an exhaust and CAI will help a lot.

in part-throttle daily style driving
headers and CAI
will show no improvement in MPG

the primary engine mod
to improve MPG
is to raise the compression ratio

notice that the Honda Insight, Toyota Prius, and Ford Escape Hybrid
don't have CAI or headers in their design
but do have a raised compression ratio?

it is worthwhile to learn about part-throttle and MAP

it is worthwhile to learn what the
'Atkinson Cycle' is
(and be proud a fellow American invented this)

it is worthwhile to learn how to trace your finger around a P-V cycle graph and know when it shows making power and when it shows consuming power just by whether your finger is moving clockwise or counter-clockwise
