Default Removing side moldings

Do you have to heat them up to remove them? Also do they leave a stick residue after you take them off? And does the paint look different underneath?

Myself, honestly, i just started picking at it, got an edge up and it started to come off.

Some spots got trickier, so i took a plastic drywall scraper, and wrapped a tshirt around it so it wouldnt scratch my paint. But didnt pry it off in big chunks, but worked at it a little bit at a time.

Yeah, there was some adhesive gunk left over, but i used a 3M aerosol adhesive remover, worked like magic.

Afterwards, it may take a good washing, and another once over with the 3M remover again.

my driverside door was in an accident before i bought it, and the moulding was ghetto rigged back on with silicone caulk instead of the factory 3M, so for me, it took me about 2 hours all together.

That wouldn't hurt. They are held on the same way as the ram 1500 logo's are. So I would say a blow drier and some fishing line would work good too.

Goo-gone works as well to get the adhesive off. May have to saturate a sponge or something to really let it soak on there, but it will come off pretty easily. Just take your time.

i used fishing line and got about 4 inches back than i was able to lift up on teh spear and slowly separate it from teh truck

than i hit it with an eraser wheel and got most the stuff off

but teh worst part is i had to hand polish both sides and that took 2 hrs
