Hello all,

Right now im hunting for a new truck. Currently I own a Dakota but have been looking at 02-03 Rams. I found a couple but the one I like the most is an 02 quad cab short bed 4x4. The truck has 100k. Is this high for a Ram? It is the 4.7L motor. How have these trucks been for you guys? Is this a truck that if taken care off will still be running at 175k? How are the trannys in these things? I had some bad luck with my Dakota and im hoping Dodge built the Ram a little better than they built my Dak. What about mpg on these beasts?

I had an 02 QC 4x4 with the 4.7 and was having electrical issues with it. Dash lights would come on and go off and then all electrical stuff would not work. Cost a lot of money to replace alot of stuff and then was good but then started happening again. Traded it in on a 07. Other then that I had no issues with it.

 

I cant really complain about mine it has been good, just started having a few problems hopefully just minor though. i have about 130,000km but still love the truck.

 

Had the 2001 dakota with 4.7. The 4.7 ran like a top at 169,000 miles when I traded it. 1 tune up at 125,000 miles. Heheh. Worst problem with the dakota was u-joints, replaced them twice (I guess I was a little heavy on the foot while dumping the clutch-often).

If the DAK it is any indication, the RAM should be easily as tough.

 

I have a 2002 RAM 1500 QUAD CAB 4x4 with a 360 engine, and has 275000 km and works great. Transmission went at 200000 km, but i still love the way it rides.
