SRT-10 colis
Hey guys, I know its been like a million years but I am on another site. Just wanted to check back in to tell you guys I did this swap, but with regular cab parts..
I wanted the lowered front ride height 3/4-1" and the serious Reg Cab rear springs that are stiffer and have the anti-hop bars already built in. Caltracs were twice as much as I Paid for all these parts, it literally cost me around $200 for the srt parts...
Front springs
Front shocks
A-Arms
Knuckles
Calipers
Rotors - needed new rotors and pads..
Rear springs
I already had the bilstein replacement shocks for the rear, but I know they are different than the SRT-10 spec shocks (valving etc..)
I still need a rear sway bar but the handling is night and day, was alittle stiff up front until I put in new bumpstops up front to get an extra 1/2"-3/4" range.
I also used the DJM flip and welded it to the axle after I indexed the pinion to the correct angle.
I used some shackles that are much longer than the stock ones with extra mounting holes so I can adjust it when necessary.
Also since the reg cab has a lower mounting point for the front eye of the rear springs which would help raise the rear up after they decided to use an undermount spring mount, ours is higher which causes a flip with these springs to be much lower than a reg cab srt-10. Our main leafs front eyes wrap up, and the srts wrap down so to get an extra 3/4"-1" of lift I swapped out the srt main and put our 1500 main leaf in place of it.
All in all this was a pretty straight forward swap with some learning along the way,
