I think everyone is going to say the kind they got on their own truck is the best.

That being said I have an airaid CAI and its pretty good too haha.

Everyone loves their own - but that's what I wanted. I have just a K&N drop in stock replacement. I have seen some videos of 4.7s with the K&N CAI and the AIRAID, etc....and they just sound so wicked mean!! I am going to upgrade to one soon. I just wanted some opinions, etc. I am kind of torn between the AIRAID and the K&N. The Ram Hammer seems so hard to find.

The differences in the CAI's aren't worth the differences in prices. Without forced induction the engine will only take in the air that it needs...period. Get a decent CAI that ditches the silencer and keeps the intake charge as cool as possible.

I went with the Airaid setup only because there were so many people getting K&Ns around here. I was suprised how much louder the engine sounded while accellerating. Now that the Gibson exhaust is on I really don't hear it anymore

As far as MPG.... it's been on for 3 weeks now and I haven't notice any increase but I definitely notice better pickup and throttle response.

always worth a read:

http://home.stny.rr.com/jbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm

graph that tells you 88% of what you need to know:

do you know how to measure pressures and temperatures after an air intake change for less than $40 ?

i got the volant intake. I only got it because it was the only one left in stock after xmas last year and they were offering it for $200 shipped. I like it. it looks real clean under the hood ( i didnt like the chrome tubing under there when i had the ebay intakes, Looked cheesy to me) but it woke up my exhaust. has a tottally different tone to it. I noticed a little gain but i wasnt expecting much.

Metal tubing holds heat. No good for cool air. The stock box with the Airaid MIT is the best set-up. except for the cool looking Variram Hemi Under Glass.

by the way severdistorition is right , overall cai does not do a damn thing.def just for looks ...if i had a supercharger on it ..it would be quite functional but for the mean time were breathen in maybe , just maybe 10 degree colder air than stock.
