does large tire size damage ps or at
when my tires wear out im going to buy the biggest ones that wont rub and put them on my stock wheels. My question is does all that extra size and weight damage the power steering or the automatic transmission??? I know guys who build cars match the trans ans ps to the size of tires they plan to run and I've been in many trucks that are lifted with huge tires and when you turn the wheel the ps screams at you! what do you guys think?
A bigger tire is heavier and puts you at a mechanically disadvantageous ratio in comparison to the stock tire.
This will be more wear and tear on your transmission and particularly your torque converter. Add in some towing and hauling and it's even more stress. The extra weight of the tires will add more load to the power steering system.
It all depends on how much bigger you want to go. Just a little bigger probably won't be a big deal.

shouldnt really damage too much, i have a 2500 with 35's and the stock size is a 31, not too many probs sept for my ps, but thats cuz i got the truck stuck and tried turning the tires with alot of force, after that its been kinda noisy, i got a question also, any of you guys runnin the bigger tires have probs turning every once in a while at low idle?
I don't know about any of them with smaller than 20" wheels, but my truck that came stock with 20" wheels (I read all 20" wheel stock trucks came with this) is fitted with a PS cooler. Haven't had a problem yet.
what is this ps cooler you speak of im wondering if i have that ??/
