Default use 93 Octane??

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 BigHorn w/5.7 Hemi, I have a K&N CAI and Superchips Programer I just bought and buying a Corsa Exhaust system.

Does anyone use or recommend using 93 Octane at the Gas Station or would it just be wasting $$$, should I go with 89 or 91??

if you programeed you sc tuner for performance i would use the 93 since it goes off of fuel/air ratios. i only have 91 availble to me lol if i had pure alcohol/jet fuel i would use that ...lmao maybe for myself to drinkl to!

I just bought the tuner and using it within the next day or 2, I am just doing some research, but I do want the highest performance settings, I could care less about saving MPG. Sounds like 93 is the way to go.

well after looking around my area in Arizona(Scottsdale) I cannot find one gas station that sells 93 octane. I did find a place that sells 100 octane right by my work but its like $7.00 a gallon. Do you think I should mix 91 with a couple gallons of 100 octane?

Thoughts?

I use the highest I can find around here with my Superchips performance tune. Usually it is 92 or 93, can't ever find anything higher than that except in Jersey.

You should find that the performance tune with 91 or greater octane will produce the best gas mileage even over the 87 tune with 87 gas (assuming you drive the same) enough so to justify paying extra per gallon at the pump. I did the research on every combo possible about two and a half years ago with the SC and found that 93 octane in performance tune gave me a lower operating cost of 3-4 cents per mile over any other combo. Keep in mind that is WITH the cost difference of the fuel figured in.

I've been using 93 octane or higher when available in my 05' Hemi with the SC Programmer Performance Tune and modifications since the truck was purchased new in 05'. This has proven to be the best combination for my application with no problems encountered at all and maximum performance & MPG with this tune. Fortunately 93+ fuel is currently available in my location for $2.20/gal.
