leveling kit + 6" lift = ???
hey guys..
when i was in an F150, alot of guys were stacking a leveling kit (spacer) with a 6" lift to get more clearance..
just wondering if it was do-able on the ram?..
also, whats the availability of lifts for 2wd 07's?.. is it pretty much the same for 2wd and 4wd as far as brands, and what not?.. if anything i think the 2wd lifts are cheaper..
thanks for any help guys

Usually the suspension lift will level it out, as in a 6'' lift would actually be an 8'' lift in the front and a 6'' lift in the back. That will get it level. But if you like the look and want more clearance, I don't see why adding another 2 inches wouldn't work. It would sit higher in the front though obviously. I'm not an expert but I believe it would work.
ya.. i would add a 8" block in the rear so that it sits level.. or a little raked if anything.. but then i would have a 8" lift instead of 6" and not have to pull a body lift.. ewww
i dunno.. just thinking out loud..
has anyone on here done a leveling kit on a 2wd?.. i was looking at them online and realized the 4wd kit will not work for a 2wd.. kina bummed about that and makes me want to wait and find a 4wd.. UGHH

Uh.... don't put on an 8" block. Can you say "axle wrap"? Pointless. Options are very limited for the '07 2wd. www.performancelifts.com has one. They say don't go over 2" spacer in the front, preferably don't use one at all due to severe degradation of ride quality The biggest lift I've seen for an '07 4x2 is 7", using a 4" spindle and a 3" spacer with either a 4 or 5" block out back. They say the largest block you can go before you encounter drive-line issues is 5". If you want something that is feasible for use, I would go with the 4" spindle and a 1 or 2" block out back to level it.
I wouldnt go anything more then a 2" block in the rear. I had a 3" block on my bronco and it had soo much axle wrap.

I put a leveling kit on my '08 2wd about 3 days ago. It's the daystar 1.5''. I have a picture of it on a different computer that i try to put up later tonight. I haven't noticed pretty much any degradation of drive quality. If anything, I like it better. It's a tad stiffer over the speed bumps, but granite it's a high school parking lot and it's practically a cinder block that i'm going over. Appearance wise, I can somewhat tell the spacers are there, it's easiest to tell from a distance, looking at the gaps between the wheel wells in the front and back. But i can definitely feel the 1.5'' in the cab, and i like it! Also, an option for the rest of the lift, for an easy 3'' lift you can get a body lift. THat's what i'm doing, 350 for parts and 275 for install. Not bad compared to a spindle lift at 700 for parts and probably 700 at least for install.
thanks for the pics.. deffinately helped..
i think i might be going for a used hemi 4x4 rather than a new 2wd..
i dunno yet.. this is such a pain in the *** its unbelievable.. i cant find a freakin truck that has everything.. its either this or that.. or has a HEMI and 4wd but is freakin sand dune tan.. ugly as hell..
