I was wondering if it was possible to put a switch on the mds system on my 08 ram. Has anyone ever heard of onythinglike this.

 

There's a light mod in the DIY section that'll tell you when it's in MDS...but no there's no switch that'll turn it on and off.

 

i tried looking in the DIY section and nothing came up in the search for MDS

 

I have the edge evolution power programmer. It tells me when I am in v4 or v8 mode. I would like to figure out a way to turn it on and off. When daily driving I could turn it on 4cyl and get excellent fuel mileage. When pulling something put it back it 8cyl. Sounds good, but don't know if its possible.

what does the tow mode do to the MDS? I dont remember it kicking into 4cyl mode while it was engaged

 

Tow mode will disengage MDS and also changes the shift points. That is an easy way to disable MDS though.

 

Diablo Predator has an unkown release date, but if it ever comes out you will be able to disable MDS at you comand. However, SCT has a rogrammer that allows the '06's to disable the mds. For some reason they haven't come out with anything for the 07/08's.
Mike at Diablo said that the only reason they haven't released the new predator for the 06-08's is because they don't have the software capabilities yet to change the tire size, but have all the other bugs worked out? This is interesting because Superchips has all of that except the MDS feature as well as Edge. Who knows, but I cannot wait to turn off the damn MDS. I didn't buy my truck to save on gas. I bought my stratus for that.

 

And T/H locks out 5th gear.
