Adding Greese Fittings
Has anyone attempted to add the greese fitting nipples on to the ball joints or anyother part that doesn't have a greese fitting all ready??
What are the pro's and con's of doing this yourself verses buying a new part with the greese fittings all ready in there???

i have read posts in the past where Cummins Ram owners used self-tapping grease jerks to add lube fittings to front suspension parts
most coated the drill bit with grease to catching metal filings
and held a vacuum hose as close as possible to the spot drilled,
but I personally don't think that a few metal filings are something great to fear,
as most machinery generates metal filings naturally

if you're going to do it, try to keep it as clean as you possibly can. i've seen little metal filings tear up plenty. would you want to put any sand in your ball joint? then why are metal filings ok?
Are there any grease zurts on these Dodges? I looked under mine and found no place that I can grease it up at. My grandpa said something about putting on some myself, but other people say not to bother , because I don't strain it really, plus these front ends will all go out sometime.

I haven't checked yet but maybe the drive shafts have a zurt fitting... I guess I have to crawl under there and check on things...

I would leave them alone until you have put significant miles on your truck. Wait until you hit 70k or atleast until the warranty runs out. By you installing grease fittings in the ball joints, will void your ball joints for warranty.(probably being 3yr/36kmi for most of us) Sounds silly, but the dealers come up with the most ridiculous ways to avoid warranty work because warranty work doesn't pay much at all.
