no sound clips yet, but took these this morning.

I will probably add 1 exhaust hanger to the new pipe section just in front of the muffler.

Looks good - I am going to get mine next week. Does anyone know the diameter of the exhaust on the 08's? It appears to be 3" but it's hard to tell. I tried measuring it but its a little difficult. I guess I could measure the exhaust tailpipe and see what that is.

Yep, tailpipe measures 3".....I found the best muffler with the 3" inlets and outlets.

Where did you get the piece of pipe from to extend it?

So the stock pipe is 3". Should I get the muffler with the 2.5" inlet and outlet? That way, I can slide the muffler inside the existing pipe and clamp it, right?

I got the pipe at the local auto parts store.

If you want the thrust, I think 2.5 is as big as they come, so you could do adapters before and after the muffler, or find a muffler you want that is 3 in and out.

do not try to clamp a 3 inch pipe around a 2.5 inch muffler.

the trush is pre-swelled to slide right on to the 2.5inch pipe.

You cant even clamp a 2.75 muffler in a 3 inch pipe, it will leak badly.

OK, yes the Thrush does come in 3" size so we're good there. Are the outlet pips on the muffler split a little so they will slide into a 3" pipe? Thanks for the info.

they are not split, they are swelled, or streched so they slide right on.

its like they are 3.1 inch, so they slide on a 3.0 pipe.

Remember, I did have a 2 ft peice of tailpipe to fill in between the new muffler and pipe from the cat. converter, and i DID have to trim it to fit (shortened it) I originally had a 18 inch pipe that wasnt long enough.

Make sure you have something to cut down the extra pipe if you need, but make sure its long enough to reach.

Plus you will need it to get the OLD muffler off
