When I bought mine it was parked next to a 4x4. They were the same height. I read somewhere that the tailgate height difference between a 4x4 and 4x2 was only about 1/2 an inch. That is for 2008 though.
The 2wd is about 1" lower in the front. Dodge had to lift the 2wd's in order to fit the 20's in the fenders.
My 4x4 sits about 3/4" lower in the front than my dad's 3500 4x4 Cummins.
