When I bought my Ram, I was deciding on either a 2004 1500 Ram quad cab or the 2005 Dakota. I like the mean appearance of the older style.

 

05 looks the best but if you want the larger rear seat I guess 06 mega cab is your truck. 06 kinda looks like a Dakota on steroids![:@]

 

I just ordered an '05 Hemi standard cab, in part because of seeing the '06 here (my backwoods dealer knows nothing about the restyle--no surprise).

I simply buy what I like and it doesn't matter what comes out when, since resale, depreciation, etc. are of no concern to me. If I don't like the looks, I don't buy and I don't like the new Ram... at all.

What happened to the "is that all you got?" grin in the Dodge Ram trucks? I dont like what they're doing...

I actually like the 06, i do plan on purchasing a 06 2500 HD 4X4 quad cab, no mega cab for me. I have no need for that much room, however i have to say that it is about time they stood up to FORD & CHEVY's cabs..

 

I think the 06 is hideous. When they changed the 1500 in 02 I thought the 02 was ugly too, now I am the proud poppa of an 04 QC Hemi and I love it. I think the Mega Cab would look better if they spent the time to make the rear door a little bit bigger and not leave that big pillar behind the door jam. Just a thought. It looks like they just the back of the cab off an 05 and 6-8 inches to it and welded the back back on. I do like the idea of adding that much more room to the cab, but to extend it then add the storage behind the seat is a big F-U to the SD guys. Does anyone have an overall length of the 06 MC LWB?

 

Okay, OKAY ALREADY!!!![:@] What is the deal with truck manufacturers doing this "euro" styling on their midsized SUV's - then plastering these funky a$% abominations on their full sized trucks! BLASPHEMY I say!!

For example : Trailblazer > Silverado (UGH!)[:'(]

and now : Durango > Ram[:@]

Where does this stupid trend end!! Since when was the mid sized SUV market the test bed to see if the truck market would bear the new look?? I don't know about the rest of you, but I NEVER even LOOKED at the Durango when I was shopping for a truck.

I'm just glad I bought mine when I did - I may not like the looks of the '06, BUT, if it had a 6.1L Hemi it will probably sell briskly....
