Default problem with heated seats 2003 ram 1500

i've got a 2003 1500 ram the loaded version and with these heated seats the pass. side works fine but the drives side works on low but the high does'nt seem to work,at least thats what it feels like , now would it be the switch on the panel that would need replacing or would it be more to that?

The heated seat system, like everything else in the truck, has its own "brain" that controls all its functions. If the switch lights in the high position, the switch is ok.

The service manual has this to say:

If a monitored heated seat system failure
occurs, the switch indicator lamps will flash at a
pulse rate of about one-half second on, followed by
about one-half second off for a duration of about one
minute after the switch for the faulty heated seat is
depressed in either the Low or High direction. This
process will repeat every time the faulty heated seat
switch is actuated until the problem is corrected.
and

• If a single LED indicator lamp for one heated
seat switch does not operate and the heated seat elements
do heat, refer to Diagnosis and Testing the Heated Seat Switch in this section for heated seatswitch diagnosis and testing procedures.

• If both LED indicator lamps for a heated seat
switch operate, but the heated seat elements do not
heat, refer to Diagnosis and Testing the Heated
Seat Module in Electronic Control Modules for
heated seat module diagnosis and testing procedures.
Diagnosing the switches has a couple of pages in the manual so I won't put it all here. Odds are good that your problem is related to the element.

I've attached the self-diagnostics info from the service manual. If yours is exhibiting any of these behaviors, you'll know what the cause is already.

the element is permantely attached to the seat so I believe it requires a new cushion. My passenger side is dead with low flashing on my 02. Heated seats useless feature.

Any chance you might have the information on the heated seat module? I ohmed out the elements and everything looks good. The lights are coming on but I don't have heat to the driver side at all. I am assuming at this point its the module. Is there any way to diagnose it or should I be ordering a new one?

I sat in an 09 Laramie last week. Heated/Cooled Front Seats--heated rear seats. I asked the dealer what he'd give me for an 08 1500 (that i just bought from him 2 months ago). He just laughed and walked away

Did you check for voltage at the element with it powered up? perhaps it starts to heat and then expands and opens the circuit.

I gave up with my seat ohm reading all came back good on the passenger side and were exactly the same as the driver. As soon as I hit the switch flashing low light on the passenger side. Useless feature so I don't really care but like to have everything functioning.
